Refreshed from their twelve-hour nap, the Heckermachers enjoyed a leisurely breakfast, then wandered the resort's sandy paths, chasing a quartet of magnificent roosters who lived on the grounds.
| Hmmmm.... bacon or sausage? |
| Quite the brood. |
They had a little time to chill on the beach before their boat left.
| So that sucked... |
Unlike their Koh Tao scuba trip, this one involved a speedboat, and just three other couples.
| Intrepid Anna pulls on her fin. |
The visibility around Koh Phi Phi was pretty badass.
| Peekaboo! |
And Anna was even more comfortable tooling around underwater with a tank strapped to her back.
| The guide wanted to hang onto her anyway, though. |
They saw a lot of beautiful coral and fishes, and even a large sea turtle!
| It was THIS BIG. |
They also saw a terrifying face-eating sea snake. The guide wanted them to get close so he could take their picture with it. Uhm, no way.

After their morning dive, it was time for lunch in a secluded cove.
| Secluded cove. |
| Outcropping. |
They dined on curry packed in adorable tin containers, checked out the beach, got to know the wildlife, and splashed around in the water.
| "I am a crab. I pinch." |

Their secluded beach was around the corner from a much less secluded beach:
| It's the one from the movie The Beach. |
They opted to leave their camera on the boat for the afternoon dive, so you'll just have to trust them that there was
totally a school of small sharks on that one. They were approximately the size of Anna, but seemed uninterested in eating any of their faces.
When their boat arrived back at Zeavola, a special greeter came to get them:
| Yes, that is a tractor backing into the ocean to pick people up off a speed boat. |
Having already disembarked, the Heckermachers took pictures and giggled.
There was still plenty of afternoon left. They spent all of it in the ocean, bouncing up and down in the calm, shallow water and telling the kinds of jokes that only a Heckermacher would find funny.
Eventually, they cleaned themselves up and dined beachside on duck curry and fancy cocktails. Sleepy from their big day of underwater exploration, they once again turned in early.
